Influencing Awareness & Acknowledgement for Retired 911 First Responders. (Before September 11, 2001)
This site is dedicated to collecting funding to support, acknowledge, design and build a memorial in NYC for retired Firefighters who were off the job before September 11, 2001.
All donations will be used for this effort and to support this website as well as any other FDNY 911 Cancer related support that is needed.
These brave men and women supported the City of New York and worked a rewarding career and retired. On September 11, 2001 our nation and the world experienced a non-provoked terrorist attack against the United States of America since the Pearl Harbor attack of December 7, 1941. More than 2900 people of all races, religions and country origin were lost on that day. These retired firefighters came out to support their brothers and sisters and died as a as a result of their efforts from 911 illnesses and related. In 2015 we received a letter from Daniel Nigro FDNY Commissioner agreeing that this needs to be done – but so far nothing has been announced or communicated. Additionally, in a statement Congressman Peter King said, “Very simply, I believe these heroic individuals need to be recognized. We must work with local, state and federal officials to determine the appropriate location and means to honorably recognize these heroic men and women.”

So we are not sitting idly by – we are collecting donations and will have this funding available for this memorial when the city is ready to acknowledge these fine people.

We are in the process of setting up a 503B non-profit organization, but until then all funds collected and expenses will be available to review by the taxing and regulatory agencies upon written notice.
